It's tough for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the record chasers, are the only things left for a side that has won it all.

It needed up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if not afforded the chance.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her debut and seven global championships have come from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort can be debated.

Some will argue the argument supporting championship match pressure. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it was a frustrating experience because I feel like my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive instincts activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there the batsman was underway.

"An opportunity to take the field and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was out her side required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if we do, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a belief they will win from any position has grown stronger - this success following success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

However although she afterwards confessed those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this tournament is likely to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as captain.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
